Photodynamic therapy

The photodynamic therapy provided by the Aveolla system is based on narrow LED strips.

The three Aveolla colours emit light at a specific wavelength that ensures optimal photobiomodulation of the targeted skin cells.

Aveolla light therapy is non-invasive, non-ablative, and safe for all skin types. Photodynamic therapy uses heat to stimulate the cells, without damaging the epidermis or dermis. Unlike with laser or IPL, there is no recovery time.

The different coloured lights allow for a range of skin treatments for acne, rosacea, redness, scars, wrinkles, and fine lines.

Photodynamic therapy

Violet (405nm)
Aveolla light therapy is designed to irradiate acne bacteria. This wavelength is the optimal setting for treating acne.

Anti-inflammatory photodynamics

Red (633nm)
The anti-inflammatory effect reduces the redness and increased reactivity often associated with acne and rosacea. Red light therapy stimulates the fibroblasts, which improves collagen production and skin renewal.

Infrared photodynamics

IR (850 nm)
Aveolla’s IR light is highly absorbed by all cell types, yielding optimum results from photorejuvenation therapy. Aveolla light therapy speeds up the scarring process after surgery and improves the appearance of scars.

Nearly 70% of people treated have seen tremendous results.

In general, two weekly sessions are needed over a period of 4-6 weeks, for a total of 8-12 sessions.

Aveolla light therapy for photorejuvenation

Aging is accompanied by a decreased amount of collagen in the dermis. Skin loses its elasticity and its ability to retain moisture, becoming drier and thinner as the body’s natural regeneration process slows down.

Photoaging accentuates these effects because the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays produce enzymes that break down the skin’s support structures, preventing the production of new collagen.

Cell activation tests show that Aveolla red and IR light possess specific and unique cell stimulation patterns that act on cell photobiomodulation and skin rejuvenation.

Wavelength (nm) Cell type
Mast Neutrophil Microphage Fibroblast Fibroblast-myofibroblast Keratinocyte
630-670 ++ + ++ +++ + +++
790 ++     ++
830-850 +++ +++ +++ + +++ +++
904 -   + - - -
1064       +

The phototherapeutic wavelengths/specific actions increase the potential action of specific cells.

Aveolla red light is absorbed by cell mitochondria and stimulates ATP production, leading to increased cell action potential and improved cell vitality. The 633-nm light is absorbed significantly by the fibroblasts, leading to a subsequent increase in the speed and efficiency of new collagen production. The light stimulation also renews old collagen and elastin fibres.

Aveolla 850-nm IR light acts synergistically to boost the light and achieve optimal photorejuvenation results. Aveolla IR light is highly absorbed by the fibroblasts-myofibroblasts , encouraging collagen alignment and firmness, leaving skin looking tighter and more uniform. Light-induced neovascularization in the treatment area improves skin perfusion and oxygenation and helps eliminate toxins for a brighter appearance.
